Custom typeface for the city of Lahti.

The design is based on the original font designed by Redland. Originally an all caps font with a limited character set, I was asked to revive the typeface with a complete redraw and addition of lowercase, full latin language support, full sets of punctuation and symbols.

We left the recognisable proportions and stencil-like gaps  in select letters, and used this feature in the lowercase as well. The result is a completely new, distinct and clear geometric sans serif typeface used extensively in the visual communication of Lahti.
